DESCRIPTION

Calcined petroleum coke (CPC) powders are obtained from petroleum coke, a dark solid carbon material produced from the thermal cracking of crude oil. CPC powders are widely used as a carbon additive in the production of anodes for aluminum smelting, steel production, and titanium dioxide pigment production. CPC powder is a non-metallurgical product and a comparatively low-priced carbonaceous material that has high carbon content and low ash content.

In terms of properties, CPC powders have a particle size range of 0.1-2 mm and a relatively low density. CPC powders have a high carbon content (up to 98%) and low sulfur and ash contents, making them an ideal material for use as an anode material in aluminum production. The high carbon content ensures that the anode maintains its integrity throughout the entire smelting process, while the low sulfur and ash contents reduce the emission of pollutants.

CPC powders are also used as a fuel in various industries, mainly in steel production, cement manufacturing, and power generation. In the steel industry, CPC is used as a reducing agent and a source of carbon for the production of steel. In cement manufacturing, CPC is used as a low-cost fuel alternative to coal, and in power generation, CPC is used as a fuel for power plants as a replacement for coal.
