DESCRIPTION
Weathering steel alloy or more popularly known as Corten Steel is designed to form stable rust-like appearance on the surface. Like copper, weathering steel’s defensive layer protects the metal that’s beneath from corrosion. When exposed to natural weather over the years, a marbling of different shades of rich orange and brown forms on the surface of the metal, similar to that of rust. Due to its natural appearance, it eliminates the need for painting and upkeep, making it a very low maintenance choice. On top of its unique aesthetic, the sheets are easily formed into exterior wall decoration board and can be manipulated into custom architectural shapes and designs. Weathering steel was intentionally developed in order to eliminate the process and need for painting. Under natural weather conditions, weathering steel like corten forms a unique rust-like layer of rich orange and brown.
