All our corten steel sphere for fire pit come pre-weathered so no need to wait 6-9 months for that beautiful golden brown patina. The colour will continue to develop as it weathers and while this process is happening there will be a rust runoff. Corten steel is a special steel originally developed for bridge building and skyscraper construction due to its incredible strength. When the steel weathers it develops a dense oxidisation layer which protects the blue steel inside.
